Taramindu Beach Resort is located at Laiya, Batangas. 4 hours away from Metro Manila.
Its a good alternative beach location from Puerto Galera. The only difference is - you can directly proceed to the location via car or bus and no need to cross the sea via ferry - like when your going to Puerto Galera.
The resort is family owned business. The husband and wife couple were always hands on in taking care of their guests.
They had their own restaurant with only a few choices of food in the menu. Although I can say hands up to the chef, the food was pretty decent :) If you want to other have other foods - you can either wake up early and meet the local fishermen who just had their catch for the day or go to the public market and buy the local produce or meat. Either way- the resort is willing to cook your dish for P50.00 per recipe. Which again, i think, is pretty decent :)
Our family stayed in the resort's Suite Room - which was beach front. The only irritating and a bit of let down about the room is - the actual beach front view. In the middle of the view from the balcony- right smack in the middle - is the roof of the ground floor resto.....so you can see the beach from the left and the right side only. In the sweltering heat of the afternoon sun though - the whole balcony is covered by the leaves and branches of the Tamarind trees around the resort - the breeze made us sleep and doze off while we were at the balcony :)
The bathroom was very spacious. Aside from the normal shower, there was also a bath tub with its own separate shower.....
Now, as for the beach, the beach had a rough grained sand. It was a coarser version of the sands in puerto galera....far off type of sand from the beaches of Bora of course. :D
The water was great....clear....my kids like to snorkel...and with the little marine life that they saw, they were stil happy coz the beach was clean enough for them to stay in the water for hours and hours and hours :)
So for short family trips....i would really recommend going to Laiya Batangas :)
